Caught. Volkswagen Arteon Shooting Brake is a reality, but…

Anonim

In fact, the rumors surrounding the Volkswagen Arteon Shooting Brake extend beyond Arteon. Do you remember its predecessor, the Passat CC or simply CC? There were also numerous rumors about a potential shooting brake of it, which never materialized.

Well, this time the story seems to be different, as the images, originally published by CocheSpias, that accompany this text reveal.

“Caught” in China, at the factory where it is produced — and yet to be finished; look at the doors — it looks like the Volkswagen Arteon Shooting Brake is already a reality.

In China, where she was caught, Arteon is not called Arteon, but CC, like its predecessor. The curious advanced name for this variant is CC Travel Edition.

It is possible to detect several differences for “our” Arteons, apart from the roof line and the unprecedented rear volume, as you would expect to see in a van. At the front we see a new front bumper, which includes larger air intakes, as well as new rear doors (new shaped windows), and the integration of the exhaust outlets has also been revised.

The greater height to the ground and the plastic protections delimiting the wheel arches attract attention, perhaps the justification for the chosen name.

Naturally, the Arteon Shooting Brake designation is to be expected for the new model on the European continent, although a “rolled up pants” derivation is not a certainty.

When arrives?

As mentioned in our Special News 2020 , the Volkswagen Arteon should receive an update this year, along the same lines as we saw in the “brother” Passat. In other words, more focused on reinforcing technological content than on a revised style.

It will be the right opportunity to reveal Volkswagen Arteon Shooting Brake in Europe, but — and there is always a but… —, having been “caught up” in the Chinese factory that only produces for the local market, the possibility of this variant is confined to the Chinese market only. We'll know soon…
