With a presentation scheduled for the 24th of August, during the Automobile fan meeting that takes place every year in California, USA, which is named The Quail – A Motorsports Gathering, the latest Bugatti hypersports car, called Bugatti Divo — Chiron is not part of the name — has, however, been anticipated by some teasers – which, it must be admitted, are already making your mouth water for what is to come!
After being “announced” through the first images of those that will be the rear lights — most likely, in LED or OLED — the Bugatti Divo now lets us foresee a detail of the long-awaited huge aerodynamic pack: a side blade in carbon fiber, with the particularity of also displaying the colors of the French flag.
The (possible) similarities with Vision Gran Turismo
This last detail leaves, moreover, the idea that the Bugatti Divo may come to have several similarities with the Vision Gran Turismo, one-off prototype presented at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show and which ended up being sold to a collector in Los Angeles, for something like 5.16 million dollars, or 4.4 million euros.
In fact, in addition to the value of the car itself, equipped with a W16 block with 1672 hp and 1580 Nm of torque, the American also purchased a second set of racing tires — only two were manufactured by Michelin — for 93,000 dollars (close to 80 thousand euros), and paid another 20 thousand dollars (just over 17 thousand euros), for a basic inspection: oil change, cleaning the windshield and checking the tire pressure!
Only 40, to five million each
Regarding the Bugatti Divo, the French brand has already announced that it will be a special edition, with production limited to just 40 units, each costing around 5.8 million, in other words, close to five million euros.
It remains to be discovered, however, if this Divo will be based on the Chiron model, or if, on the contrary, it will be something totally new, with what Bugatti itself describes as “a strong new design language”, capable of “wondering all over the world”.
More fit for the slopes
Promised is also that the Bugatti Divo will be particularly agile and able to deliver “significantly more performance-oriented” driving sensations. Thus leading to believe that this new special version will feel better on track than Chiron; even because it is, from the outset, lighter than, for example, the Chiron Sport.
Although it is scheduled to be unveiled on August 24th, it will not be surprising that more teasers, as well as information, may be released over the next few days. That is, even before the full lifting of the veil that hangs over the new Bugatti Divo.
