One of the "key pieces" of the Renaulution plan, the new Renault Kadjar continues in tests and was, again, “caught” in a set of spy photos that allow us to anticipate a little more of its forms.
On the outside, the rival of the Peugeot 3008, which will be based on the CMF-C platform (the same as the Nissan Qashqai) continues to be heavily camouflaged, disguising its lines very well.
Even so, it is possible to foresee the adoption of LED headlights whose look should present similarities with what we already know in the also new Mégane E-Tech Electric. From the rear, however, it is difficult to predict anything such as the “density” of the camouflage.
Finally, and for the first time, the spy photos also allowed a glimpse of the interior of the new Kadjar. There, the evolution is notable, with the style following the trend inaugurated by Mégane E-Tech Electric, with the two large screens (the infotainment one facing the driver) standing out.
What is already known?
Despite sharing the platform with the Qashqai, the new Renault Kadjar should be a little longer than the Japanese model — it is speculated that it will be slightly above 4.5 m in length — which should be reflected in the internal dimensions.
Another novelty is the number of bodies. In addition to the five-seater version, a larger seven-seater bodywork is planned, which will rival models like the Peugeot 5008 or the Skoda Kodiaq.
Finally, in the field of engines, the mild-hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions are practically guaranteed to be present, as do the gasoline-only versions. Already shrouded in uncertainty is the Diesel engine. After all, the Nissan Qashqai has already given up on this type of powertrain.
Still without a concrete date for its presentation, it is estimated that the new Renault Kadjar will be unveiled between the end of 2021 and the beginning of 2022.
