It was last February that we saw a magazine unveiled. Renault Megane , but has only now managed to reach the market in all its fullness — pandemic, what else?
One of the great highlights of this review is the introduction of the unprecedented plug-in hybrid variant E-Tech, for now, only available on the Sport Tourer van (but the car will also receive it) and which we have already had the opportunity to test.
For the rest, the overhaul of the familiar French compact focused mainly on strengthening the technological offer, receiving a new 10.2″ digital instrument panel, the Easy Link system with a 9.3” screen, new Pure Vision LED headlamps and more driving assistance systems (allowing level 2 semi-autonomous driving).

The revised and updated Renault Mégane has also gained a new level of R.S. Line equipment that takes the place of the previous GT Line. Like the latter, the R.S. Line level guarantees a sportier style both inside and out.
Engines
As for the engines, in addition to the new plug-in hybrid E-Tech — 160 hp, 50 km of electric autonomy — the range also comprises a gasoline engine and a diesel engine.

For gasoline, we have several versions of the 1.3 TCe (in-line four cylinders, turbo) — 115 hp, 140 hp and 160 hp — which can be associated either with a six-speed manual gearbox (115 hp and 140 hp) or with a gearbox seven-speed dual clutch (EDC) (140 hp and 160 hp).
We also have only one diesel engine, the 1.5 Blue dCi (four cylinders in line, turbo) with 115 hp and also with the possibility of being associated with a six-speed manual transmission or with a seven-speed EDC.

Megane R.S.
We have not forgotten the most exciting member of the family, the Mégane R.S., who has also seen the range simplified. We still have an R.S. and an R.S. Trophy, but the 1.8 TCe (in-line four cylinders, turbo) delivers 300 hp in both. The difference between the two versions is now concentrated in terms of the chassis. The RS Trophy comes equipped with the Cup chassis — firmer springs and thicker stabilizer bars — and a Torsen mechanical locking differential.

Any one of them can be paired with either a six-speed manual gearbox or a seven-speed EDC. With the particularity that EDC allows the engine to have more power: 420 Nm against 400 Nm when equipped with manual gearbox.
Prices
The revised Renault Mégane is now available in Portugal with prices starting at €24,750.
