Kodiaq. Skoda's Largest SUV Anticipates Renewal With Teasers

Launched in 2016, the Skoda Kodiaq , the Czech brand's biggest SUV, is getting ready to receive the usual mid-life update. The first official sketches anticipate a more robust image, but without breaking the visual language of the current model.

It is important to remember that the Kodiaq was the “spearhead” of the Czech manufacturer's SUV offensive, paving the way in Europe for the arrival of the Karoq and Kamiq. Now, for the “facelift” of the biggest SUV in the range — it can be configured with seven seats —, Skoda promises an aesthetic renewal and a reinforcement of the technological offer.

Judging by the first official sketches, the new Kodiaq will adopt a new grille, hexagonal shape and a redesigned luminous signature.

The fog lights continue to be positioned below the main light groups, but are now much more “split”, with LED technology, creating the feeling of a “four-eyed face”, as Skoda herself describes it.

At the front, the new bumper air intakes also stand out, which promise to reinforce the presence on the road of a model that should maintain Diesel and petrol engines, although revised to be more efficient and comply with the standards of current emissions. On the other hand, no hybrid versions are planned for the time being.

The Czech brand of the Volkswagen Group did not show any sketch of the cabin, but it is foreseeable that the dashboard could be updated and come to receive an infotainment system similar to what we found in the “brothers” Scala and Kamiq.

However, this is a doubt that will only be completely cleared up on April 13th, when the new Skoda Kodiaq will be revealed to the world.
