The Mercedes-Benz C-Class All-Terrain is an unprecedented addition to the range, giving the German van a set of additional attributes, putting it in line with other crossovers and SUVs and even surpassing several of these examples.
To achieve this, it has been rigorously equipped. Ground clearance is now increased by 40mm, comes with all-wheel drive (4MATIC, which can send 45% torque to the front wheels), has seen the steering joints reinforced, and has been given additional protections on the front and rear bumpers. , in addition to the most common plastic protections around the bodywork.
The “goes everywhere” look is complemented with a specific grille and specially designed wheels with diameters between 17″ and 19″.
The suspension is of the passive type, but it received two additional driving modes for when we left the asphalt: Offroad and Offroad+, supplemented by a downhill speed control.
If on the outside it's easy to distinguish the new All-Terrain C-Class from the other C Station-Classes, on the inside the news seems to focus on the MBUX infotainment system, which adds specific menus for off-road driving, showing information such as tilt, the angle of the wheels, the coordinates of the location, not even missing a compass.
In Portugal
The Mercedes-Benz C-Class All-Terrain was unveiled with two engines, one gasoline and the other Diesel, but for the national market only the Diesel engine will be available.
It is the OM 654, a diesel engine with four cylinders in line with 2.0 l of capacity and 200 hp of power. The mild-hybrid 48 V (EQ Boost) system that it equips adds 20 hp under certain conditions.
Transmitting engine power to the four-wheel drive is handled by a nine-speed automatic gearbox, the 9G-Tronic.
The arrival in Portugal of the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class All-Terrain is scheduled for the end of this year with prices starting at 62,425 euros.
