How good is the new Skoda Enyaq iV 80? It is good to the point of being able to face its brother Volkswagen ID.4, «eye to eye», without any feeling of inferiority.
As we know, Skoda models have not always resorted to the "last cry" of technology available in the Volkswagen Group. But in the latest models of the Czech manufacturer, this has not happened. This new Skoda Enyaq iV 80 — for now the most powerful version on sale in Portugal — is an excellent example.
It uses exactly the same solutions as Volkswagen ID.4. In particular, the well-known MEB platform — one of the biggest investments in the history of the Volkswagen Group — to the same engines, batteries, suspensions and other peripherals.
Skoda Enyaq iV takes on the difference
Despite resorting to the same technical solutions as the Volkswagen ID.4, the Skoda Enyaq iV feels like a totally different model. The Volkswagen ID.4 — which I've also tested on video — is always more dynamic and youthful, apparently targeting families with a more 'stirred' lifestyle.The Skoda Enyaq iV, on the other hand, is closer to a conventional model with a combustion engine, both in terms of style and in terms of handling feel.
It's not a criticism, because there's nothing wrong with that. But it should be noted that the specifications for the Skoda Enyaq iV were profoundly different from the Volkswagen ID.4, CUPRA Born and Audi Q4 e-tron — models with which it shares the same platform.

As for me, Skoda Enyaq iV aims for a more conservative audience. The choice of colours, the interior solutions, the posture on the road. Everything meets what most traditional consumers are looking for.
