CUPRA Born (2022). What is the new 100% electric from CUPRA worth?

Anonim

The Born is CUPRA's first 100% electric model and is, at the same time, a sort of ambassador for the young Spanish brand's electric offensive.

Built on the Volkswagen Group's MEB platform (the same as the Volkswagen ID.3 and ID.4 and Skoda Enyaq iV), the Born presents itself, even so, with its own personality and with a more irreverent image, characteristics that everyone enjoys. the CUPRA have got us used to it.

Now available for order in our country, the Born will only start to hit the roads in the first quarter of 2022. But we traveled to Barcelona and we have already driven it. And we'll tell you everything in the latest video from our YouTube channel:

The Born starts immediately by standing out at the front, marked by a large lower air intake with a copper frame and a very torn full LED luminous signature.

In profile, the 18”, 19” or 20” wheels stand out the most, as well as the texture of the C-pillar, which physically separates the roof from the rest of the bodywork, creating the sensation of a floating roof.

At the rear, a solution already seen on the CUPRA Leon and Formentor, with an LED strip that runs the entire width of the tailgate.

Moving towards the interior, a differentiation from the interior of the Volkswagen ID.3 is noticeable. Highlights include the 12” screen, the sports steering wheel, and the baquet-style seats (covered with recycled plastic, obtained from plastic waste collected from the oceans), the head-up display and the “digital cockpit”.

The seats are made using recycled materials.

In the field of connectivity, emphasis is placed on the integration with the smartphone from the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto systems.
