Cold Start. BAC Mono "in full" on the autobahn. How fast will it have arrived?

Anonim

When choosing a car for track days, there are few proposals on the market as capable as the BAC Mono , a radical single-seater with road permits and a mass of around 540 kg.

But if it is necessary to “attack” a stretch of highway up to the track, few owners of this British sports car choose to drive it instead of… towing it.

Of course, that didn't stop the well-known YouTube channel AutoTopNL from showing what it's worth in this type of environment, especially in Germany, on the famous autobahn, which has sections without speed limits.

BAC Mono

With no windshield and fully exposed to the elements, the AutoTopNL driver “squeezed out” everything Mountune's 2.5 engine with 309hp and 308Nm has to offer and took this BAC Mono up to 233 km/h.

But even more impressive are the acceleration records from 0 to 100 km/h and from 100 to 200 km/h, where the BAC Mono recorded 3.85s and 7.82s, respectively. On the other hand, the recovery from 80 to 120 km/h is done in just 1.87s.

It may not have been designed for highway travel, but we can all say that this radical British single-seater passed the demanding autobahn test with flying colors, right?
