Already tested by Razão Automóvel a few months ago, the Mercedes-Benz C-Class plug-in hybrid now hits the domestic market and brings as its main “business card” its autonomy in 100% electric mode.

According to Mercedes-Benz, the battery with a capacity of 25.4 kWh (larger than that of the first Nissan Leaf, for example), allows a maximum autonomy in 100% electric mode of 110 km.

As for the other numbers of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class 300 and Limousine and C-Class 300 and Station, the latest plug-in hybrid proposal from the Stuttgart brand “houses” a 2.0 l with 204 hp with an electric motor (synchronous permanent magnet) of 129 hp and 440 Nm, with the maximum combined power being 313 hp and 550 Nm.

How much does it cost?

Capable of regenerating up to 100 kW during braking and driving in 100% electric mode up to 140 km/h, the Mercedes-Benz C-Class plug-in hybrid “stories” the battery in the luggage compartment. For this reason, it loses capacity compared to the C-Class only with an internal combustion engine: in the van it is 360 l while in the combustion version it reaches 490 l.

Common to all C-Class plug-in hybrids is the adoption of the pneumatic (self-levelling) rear suspension. As for the price, the Mercedes-Benz C-Class 300 and Limousine is available from 57,250 euros while the C 300 and Station starts at 58,800 euros.

According to Mercedes-Benz, the arrival in Portugal of the first plug-in hybrid C-Class units should take place at the beginning of next year.
