Land Rover Defender is Women's World Car of the Year

The Land Rover Defender received the top prize of the WWCOTY (Women's World Car of the Year) or "Women's World Car of the Year" , the only automobile award in the world composed exclusively of female journalists from the automotive sector.

This was, moreover, the first time that the British brand won the main award at these awards.

Created in 2009 by New Zealand journalist Sandy Myhre, WWCOTY has a jury composed of a team of fifty journalists from the automotive sector from 38 countries on five continents. best city; best family member; best luxury car; best sporting; best urban SUV; best medium SUV; best big SUV; best 4×4 and pick-up; best electric.

Among the winners of the various categories, Peugeot is the brand that stands out, as it was the only one to win two categories with two different models, the 208, which triumphed in the category of "Best City", and the 2008, which won the “Best Urban SUV” category.

It was among these nine models that the absolute winner of this year's WWCOTY edition, the Land Rover Defender, emerged, with the revelation of the result of the final vote taking place on March 8, coinciding with International Women's Day.

The legend has been updated. The Land Rover Defender is no longer just an SUV to cross the Amazon or the desert. Its latest reinvention invites you to drive on the road with the same comfort as a luxury saloon. For this reason, and for its technology and comfort, it was named Best Car of the Year by the World Women's Car of the Year jury.

The new Land Rover Defender is already on sale in Portugal with prices starting at 83 411 EUR for the 90 version and 94 677 EUR for the 110 variant, and Guilherme Costa has already taken it to the limit.
