After a few months of seeing him in tests at the Nürburgring, the BMW M8 CSL it was once again “caught” in “green hell”, this time with (even) less camouflage, allowing us to see its details better.
At the front continues to stand out the double kidney with a 3D effect and eye-catching red accents, and the new bumper with a spoiler of considerable dimensions. However, it is the “blood-streaked” headlamps (LED daytime running lights) that stand out and give the test prototype a very aggressive look.
At the rear, it is the generous wing that continues to stand out alongside darker-than-usual optics. Already the exhausts and the rear diffuser still show some camouflage.
What do we already know?
Information about the BMW M8 CSL, despite having been “caught” again in spy photos, remains scarce.
Rumors that this M8 CSL will forego the 4.0 twin-turbo V8 used on other M8s in favor of a 3.0 l inline six-cylinder, supercharged by two electric turbochargers that will eliminate turbo-lag, continue to persist.
As for power estimates, these point to the possibility that the new BMW M8 CSL will have more than the 625 hp of the BMW M8 Competition, making it the most powerful of the 8 Series. It remains to be seen whether it will also exceed the 635 hp of the BMW M8 Competition M5 CS and establish itself as the most powerful production BMW ever.
Finally, as well as the technical data, also the unveiling date of this superlative BMW M8 remains to be revealed. However, considering that the BMW M celebrates its 50th anniversary already in 2022, we were not surprised that the presentation of this M8 CSL took place as a kind of “birthday gift”.
