The BMW M4 Competition (G82) is still “fresh”, but the Munich brand is already preparing an even more radical version of its coupé, called BMW M4 CSL.
We had already had access (in national exclusive) to the first spy photos of this more radical variant of the M4 Coupé approximately four months ago, but now we've seen it again (double dose!) and already with many new features.
For now, it is only possible to see the front of this BMW M4 CSL (Coupe Sport Leichtbau), which despite being based on the same huge vertical double-rim of the BMW M4 and M4 Competition has a slightly different internal decoration, more open and with less horizontal bars.
In addition to the more aggressive aesthetics, this change will allow for a higher cooling capacity, something that will also be reinforced by the new air intakes in the front bumper.
In addition to all this, the new BMW M4 CSL will feature a very prominent front lip, which promises to keep this coupé well “glued” to the asphalt.
The two test prototypes captured in these spy photos also feature camouflage on the headlights, one of which has Laser Light headlights, which will be standard, and the other (which everything indicates that it is intended for the North American market) is equipped "only" conventional LED headlamps.
The camouflage also extends to the roof and hood, which will both be carbon fiber, to keep the mass of the package under control.
As for the engine, it is the same 3.0 liter S58 twin-turbo in-line six-cylinder as the other M4, but it will have an estimated power of 540 hp, which if confirmed will represent an increase of 30 hp compared to the M4 Competition.
But unlike what happens with the BMW M4 Competition, this radical M4 CSL will only feature rear-wheel drive.
When arrives?
The BMW M4 CSL will be unveiled in the spring of next year and will make its commercial debut in the second half of 2022.
