Miss the 2002 BMW Convertible? You have to know the ETA 02 Cabrio

At the beginning of the year we introduced you to the ETA 02 Convertible , by the German Everytimer, a resurrect of the 1971 BMW Convertible from 1971, based on a much more recent and modern 1 Series Convertible (E88).

The models presented at the time were the first two prototypes and we were surprised by the extent of the exterior changes compared to the 1 Series that served as the basis for emulating the 2002 look.

Time to revisit the ETA 02 Convertible, now to make known the first unit produced ready to be delivered to a customer.

At first glance there does not appear to be any difference between the two known prototypes. However, this ETA 02 Convertible has an important difference for the prototypes, the material of its skin. While the prototypes were covered with a fiberglass skin, this first and subsequent units produced receive a carbon fiber skin.

Perhaps one of the reasons that helps to justify the 70 thousand euros ordered for the extensive conversion work of the BMW 135i Convertible.

Mechanically, beneath the evocative lines, we find the same turbocharged six-cylinder in the 135i with 306 hp, capable of taking the convertible to 250 km/h and accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.0s.

For now we can only… appreciate it.
