The paths of the first volume
This first volume of the Guadiana Routes has a selection of the best routes between Elvas and Monsaraz . Over 70 pages, the author of this book, journalist Alexandre Correia, gives you the option of following the river by road (indicating different places you can visit) or by road.

The first route takes you to “escape” from the main roads and discover the municipal roads. The second offers an itinerary of 188.6 km off-road in the form of two road-books. The selected routes are easily covered by any SUV (even without all-wheel drive) and a Dacia Duster 1.5 dCi 2WD was used in the reconnaissance.
The first road-book takes you from the surroundings of Elvas to the town of Alandroal on a route of 106.1 km (39.2 km of which on dirt tracks). The second describes a route between Alandroal and Monsaraz with a distance of 82.5 km (of which two thirds are on unpaved roads).
