THE Volkswagen Passat is already available in Portugal, with prices starting at 29 675 euros for access version: Passat Limousine 1.5 TSI (150 hp). The Variant version is 32 777 euros.
Prices go down across the board, but it's in the plug-in hybrid version (GTE) that the drop is steeper, even though the 100% electric range has increased by 40%, to 56 km on a WLTP cycle (55 km for the Variant van).
The 1.4 TSI engine is still present, working together with an electric motor, but the battery pack was reinforced in order to allow this increase in autonomy and now has 13 kWh.

But it's not just in the city or short distances that the electric motor helps. Above 130 km/h, it assists the thermal engine in order to give it the necessary increase in power to justify the acronym GTE.
The offer of engines in the Passat range continues to feature Diesel and petrol versions, with powers between 120 and 240 hp.
With prices starting at 48,500 euros in the limousine version and at 50,068 euros in the Variant version, the Volkswagen GTE sees its price drop around 5000 euros.
