Audi Q4 e-tron. Get to know all the secrets inside

Anonim

There's just a little to go before we see the Audi Q4 e-tron without camouflage, something that should happen in April, when the new electric SUV of the brand from Ingolstadt is presented.

Until then, Audi will gradually unveil the secrets of a model that was created on the MEB platform, the same as the basis for the Volkswagen ID.4 and the Skoda Enyaq iV.

At 4590 mm long, 1865 mm wide and 1613 mm high, the Audi Q4 e-tron will aim “batteries” at rivals like the Mercedes-Benz EQA and promises a spacious and very digital cabin. And while the exterior lines are still hidden under heavy camouflage, the work of Audi's interior designers can already be seen in full.

Space optimization

Audi guarantees that it has taken a huge leap in terms of the interior, especially in terms of the use of space. With a generous 2760 mm wheelbase and a completely flat floor, the Q4 e-tron has a second row of seats 7 cm higher than the front seats, without affecting the allotment of available head space. in later places.

Functionality was also another concern of those responsible for the German brand, who managed to find 24.8 liters of storage space — including the glove compartment — inside the Q4 e-tron and 520 liters of luggage capacity, the same volume we find, for example in the Audi Q5, which is about 9 cm wider. With the rear seats folded down this number grows to 1490 litres.

Onboard scanning

In terms of technology, the Q4 e-tron also wants to be a reference in its segment and proposes the well-known 10.25” Audi Virtual Cockpit, the 10.1” MMI Touch center screen — an optional version will be available. 11.6” — with voice control (to activate just say “Hey Audi”) and a head-up display system (optional) with augmented reality, which in addition to showing the most common information, such as speed or signals You'll also be able to reproduce, almost as if they were floating on the road, turn signals and information relating to the driving assistance systems.

augmented reality

According to Audi, the augmented reality head-up display system will allow you to quickly interpret all warnings and with less risk of distraction, as the content will be in the driver's field of vision and in a screen-like space 70".

The augmented reality generator, called AR Creator, will work together with the front camera, the radar sensor and the GPS navigation system.

Thanks to these systems and the ESC stability control sensor, the system will also be able to compensate for vibrations or sudden movements caused by braking or the most uneven surfaces, so that the projection is as stable as possible for the driver. .

For Audi, this augmented reality head-up display system is particularly useful in the context of navigation. In addition to a dynamic floating arrow that warns us of the next maneuver, there is also a graphic that tells us, in meters, the distance to the next turn.

More sustainable materials

The revolution in the interior of the Audi Q4 e-tron is not limited to the technology and space on board, as Audi also promises a wide range of materials, some of them new.

From wood to aluminium, passing through the usual S line option, customers of this Audi Q4 e-tron can also opt for a more sustainable finish, featuring synthetic leather made up of 45% recycled plastic from textiles and plastic bottles.
