In production since October 1, 2020, at Volvo's factory in Gent, Belgium, the XC40 Recharge , the first 100% electric car of the Swedish brand, is now available on the national market and has prices starting at 57,150 euros.
Equipped with two electric motors (one at the front and one at the rear), then with all-wheel drive, the XC40 Recharge guarantees 300 kW or 408 hp and 660 Nm. Thanks to these numbers, it is capable of fulfilling the sprint from 0-100 km/h in just 4.9s.

416 km autonomy
Powering the Volvo XC40 Recharge's entire electrical system is a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 78 kWh, enough for the Nordic manufacturer to announce a WLTP cycle range of 416 km. In cities, Volvo claims an electric autonomy of 534 km.
In direct current (DC) the XC40 Recharge allows loads of up to 150 kW, at this speed it is possible to “recover” about 80% of the total battery charge in just 40 minutes.
1500 kg of towing capacity
The Volvo XC40 Recharge has a towing capacity of up to 1500 kg — not all electric cars allow towing — and has a luggage capacity of 414 liters, which is lower than the version equipped with a heat engine (460 l) due to the space occupied by the batteries .
This difference is mitigated by the small front luggage compartment (with 31 l of additional capacity), a consequence of the disappearance of the combustion engine.
And the prices?
In Portugal, the XC40 Recharge is available in two levels of equipment Plus and Pro, with the second one adding the electric panoramic roof, 360º camera and Premium Sound by Harman Kardon audio system.With prices starting at €57,151, the Volvo XC40 Recharge is available as standard with 19” wheels and a fabric trim interior.
The version with the Pro equipment level starts at 61 106 euros.
