long awaited the Porsche Taycan Cross Tour was finally unveiled, thus reinforcing the Stuttgart manufacturer's 100% electric offer.

Anticipated by the Mission E Cross Turismo prototype, the new Taycan Cross Turismo has remained faithful to the forms anticipated by the prototype unveiled at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show.

Although its front section is identical to that of the Taycan, the new electric model from Porsche takes on a personality of its own since then, thanks to the descending roofline (which Porsche designers call “flyline”) and, of course, also due to the various off-road protections.

Viewed from the front, the Taycan Cross Turismo is quite similar to the Taycan.

Same inside but more spacious

The adoption of a format more focused on family tasks not only allowed for more head space in the rear seats, but also increased luggage space, with the luggage capacity going up to 446 liters (depending on equipment) instead of 407 liters of the saloon.

For the rest, the design is completely identical to what we found on the Taycan, highlighting the curved instrument panel, the 10.9” screen of the infotainment system and an additional screen (optional) for the passenger. With the “Offroad Design” package, the Taycan Cross Turismo also gets a compass on top of the dashboard.

The air suspension chassis reduces the front surface and Cx value at higher speeds, lowering the Taycan Cross Turismo by two levels.

ready for adventure

In addition to the adaptable air suspension, the Taycan Cross Turismo has a series of systems that aim to ensure that the new 100% electric Porsche model manages to go down “bad paths”, with even an optional package that increases the height to the ground up to 30 mm .

A good example of this bet is the driving mode “Gravel Mode” which makes the Taycan Cross Turismo stand 30mm taller than the Taycan.

With all-wheel drive and greater ground clearance, the Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo does not refuse to go down “bad paths”.

In addition, this mode also acts on the Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), Porsche Traction Management (PTM), Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV+), Porsche Stability Management (PSM) systems and the rear final transmission which changes relations of box in order to always benefit from traction.

With arrival on the market scheduled for the summer, Taycan Cross Turismo will see its prices start at 97 582 euros in Portugal.

Update at 4:00 pm: Added the entry price for Portugal.
