About 44 years after the appearance of the first Volkswagen Golf GTI, a new generation (the eighth) now arrives on the national market.
Unveiled a few months ago and even already tested by us, the new Golf GTI intends to maintain a successful path that has already resulted in the sale of more than 2.3 million units since the first generation launched in 1975.
Under the hood of the sportiest of Golfs (at least until the arrival of the newly unveiled Golf GTI Clubsport) is the well-known EA888, a 2.0 l four-cylinder turbo engine that delivers 245 hp and 370 Nm.
Sending power to the front wheels is a six-speed manual gearbox (standard) or seven-speed DSG. All of this allows you to fulfill the traditional 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.2s and reach a maximum speed of 250 km/h (electronically limited).

This is the number of units produced for the Volkswagen Golf GTI since it was launched in September 1975. It is the best-selling compact sports car in the world.
Equipment
One of the characteristics of the new Volkswagen Golf is the digitization of the interior, and the GTI also bet heavily on technology.
Proof of that is the adoption of the well-known “Digital Cockpit” with a 10.25″ screen, but which in the Golf GTI gains an exclusive customization. As usual, the “Innovision Cockpit” is also available, which includes an optional 10″ central screen (8″ as standard) for the infotainment system.

Added to this are equipment such as the head-up display, IQ.LIGHT LED headlights, the “We Connect” and “We Connect Plus” systems that include Streaming & Internet, online radio and other functions, or the Harman sound system Kardon with a power of 480 W.
