Both unveiled in Paris, the DS 3 Crossback E-TENSE and the DS 7 Crossback E-TENSE 4X4 are the first steps of the electrification offensive of the most exclusive of the brands of the PSA group, having both now reached the national market.
The DS 3 Crossback E-TENSE
The DS 3 Crossback E-TENSE is the 100% electric version of the B-segment SUV based on the CMP platform and features 136 hp (100 kW) and 260 Nm of torque, using 50 kWh capacity batteries arranged in a shape. “H” under the floor that offer an autonomy of about 320 km (already according to the WLTP cycle).
Equipped with three driving modes: Eco, Normal and Sport, the 3 Crossback E-TENSE also has two energy recovery options: “Normal” and “Brake”. The first simulates the behavior of an internal combustion engine while the second causes greater deceleration (and also greater regeneration).
In 100 kW fast charging mode it is possible to return 9 km of additional autonomy per minute , (a charge of 80% is reached in 30 minutes).
To charge the battery at home, DS proposes the DS Smart Wallbox connected system in both three-phase and single-phase versions. . The first allows a full charge in just 5 hours, the second takes 8 hours.

And the DS 7 Crossback E-TENSE 4X4
If the DS opted for total electrification in its smallest SUV, the same did not happen in its top of the range. So, the DS 7 Crossback E-TENSE 4X4 uses a plug-in hybrid system that combines a 1.6l PureTech 200hp gasoline engine and two electric motors.
All this gives the French model a combined power of 300 hp, a torque of 450 Nm, all-wheel drive and the ability to travel 58 kilometers in 100% electric mode, using energy supplied by a 13.2 kW/h battery and energy regeneration.
As expected, different driving modes are also available: “Electric”, “Sport”, “Hybrid”, “4WD” and “Confort”.
In “Electric” mode (the default start mode) 100% electric driving is preferred; in “Sport” mode the delivery of power; in “Hybrid” mode, performance and consumption are automatically optimized; in “4WD” the focus is on grip and mobility and in “Comfort” mode the DS Active Scan Suspension system adjusts the suspension according to road imperfections.
The “E-SAVE” functions are also available, allowing the battery to be recharged at any time thanks to the internal combustion engine, and “BRAKE”, which increases autonomy thanks to the regeneration of energy during the deceleration and braking processes. The battery charges in 1h45 min from a DS Smart Wallbox.
