The 700 incentives for the purchase of 100% electric light passenger cars, which can be requested by individuals, were exhausted in six months.
Although the regulation for the attribution of the Incentive for the Introduction to the Consumption of Low Emission Vehicles of 2021 foresees that the deadline for the submission of candidatures was extended until November 30th, 2021, currently the number of candidacies received has already surpassed the established maximum.
In total, and at the time of publication of this article , the Environmental Fund received 738 applications, of which 638 have already been approved, 32 excluded, 25 awaiting approval and 31 awaiting additional elements. This means that the state's “checks” to buy an electric passenger car have run out.
Originally the total amount available for these incentives amounted to 2.1 million euros. At this time, and as can be seen through the Fundo Ambiental page where we can see the total number of applications, the value awarded has already exceeded the amount initially foreseen, presenting a “negative balance” of 18 thousand euros.
For 2021, incentives in the category of passenger cars were only available to Individuals (ie, companies cannot submit applications). The value of the incentive amounted to a maximum of 3000 euros, with each individual being able to apply for only one incentive.
More than 77% of applications for support for light goods were refused
With regard to the incentives available for the purchase of 100% electric light goods (150 in total), to which both Individuals (maximum limit of one incentive) and Companies (which can apply for two incentives) could apply , so far 149 applications have been received.

Of the applications submitted, only 27 were accepted, 115 having been excluded and, so far, one application is waiting for validation and another one awaiting additional elements. This means that 116 applications are available for a total of 696 thousand euros.
With a total value of 900 thousand euros, the incentives available for the purchase of 100% electric light goods vehicles amount, per application, to a maximum of 6000 euros.
