Anonim

After having earned his place in the elite of motorcycling, becoming the first Portuguese ever to win in Moto GP, Miguel Oliveira will temporarily change the two for four wheels to take part in the 24 Hours of Barcelona that take place between the on the 3rd and 5th of September at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

His debut in the endurance race and his first experience in international car competition, will be made at the controls of another machine from the Austrian brand he works with in Moto GP: the KTM X-BOW GTX.

The driver from Almada will line up in the Catalan race with the True Racing team, and will share the car with drivers Ferdinand Stuck (son of former Formula 1 driver Hans Stuck), Peter Kox and Reinhard Kofler.

KTM X-BOW GTX
The KTM X-BOW GTX is the “weapon” that Miguel Oliveira will use in the 24-hour race.

an irrefutable proposal

If you remember, this is not the first time that Miguel Oliveira changes the two for the four wheels. After all, a few years ago the KTM driver played for the first time in the 24 Horas TT Vila de Fronteira, at the wheel of an SSV.

About this “exchange”, Miguel Oliveira stated: “I am super excited and proud of the opportunity to compete in this race. Motorcycle racing has always been a part of most of my life, but my career started in the Portuguese karting championship and, therefore, I always wanted to compete on four wheels”.

As for the decision, this one seems to have been easy, with Miguel Oliveira reminding: “There was no hesitation on my part when Hubert Trunkenpolz invited me”.

Finally, in terms of expectations, Miguel Oliveira prefers a moderate tone, saying that he wants to learn as much as possible from his colleagues and saying: “my main priority will be to find my rhythm and have fun”.
