One of Honda's most iconic recent models, the old man Honda CRX continues to “make headlines”. If in the past it was due to its different look and performance, today, so many years after its launch, the Japanese model is newsworthy for its remarkable resistance.
The specimen we are talking about today is owned by a stand in Florida and since 1991 this CRX Si has covered a total of 1 002 474 miles (about 1 613 325 km). In other words, this Honda traveled an equivalent distance in going from Earth to Moon and back twice.
The most impressive thing is that, despite all the mileage, the little Japanese is still in very good condition, having not received any restoration. Ok, however it has already been painted, however the interior is still the original and in the field of mechanics everything is original.
Despite having more than 1.6 million kilometers this CRX retains the original engine and gearbox. It should be remembered that under the hood there is a 1.6 l tetracylindrical which again delivered 106 hp and 132 Nm, which were then sent to the front wheels via a five-speed gearbox.
A “museum piece”
The first time this Honda CRX appeared on the radar was in 2015 when its owner lent the car to the Tampa Honda stand in Tampa, Florida, to put it on display.
Since then, the car has been acquired by the stand and has become a kind of work of art (or museum piece if you prefer), being on display there, perhaps to convince potential customers of the strength and reliability of the models of the Japanese brand.
