We tested the Land Rover Defender Works V8

Anonim

In the year in which Razão Automóvel marks the 5th consecutive year of coverage of the Geneva Motor Show, we received a very special invitation. Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) invited us to test two very important models for the group, albeit for different reasons.

  • Land Rover Defender Works V8
  • Jaguar I-Pace

While the Land Rover Defender Works V8 is the ultimate representative of all of JLR's heritage and past, the Jaguar I-Pace projects the British brand into the future.

Let's start with the past

I had about half an hour to test the Land Rover Defender Works V8, the ultimate version of the now-defunct English model. Why half an hour? Because I had this commitment. As you know, Razão Automóvel is represented at the World Car Awards, one of the most important awards in the automotive industry worldwide.

The excitement of the moment can be seen in my words. After all, this is one of the 150 examples that will be built of the Land Rover Defender Works V8, specifically the 002 prototype.

Equipped with a 5.0 liter V8 atmospheric engine with 405 hp , this model is capable of reaching 170 km/h and reaching 0-100 km/h in just 5.6 seconds — which translates into faster acceleration than a Renault Mégane RS.

I felt privileged to be able to drive such a special and historic model.

That's why despite all the setbacks, we decided to make a small Vlog with the driving experience. We had to share this with you! We know well that the ideal was to have made a video like this, but as someone once said “the good is the enemy of the great”.

We hope you like and subscribe to our channel. In the coming days we will continue to publish our exclusives from the Geneva Motor Show. We still have the Jaguar I-Pace to show you and a few more surprises you won't want to miss.
