The first ever plug-in hybrid Jeep is now available for ordering, the Renegade 4x it's the Compass 4x . They arrive in our country with three levels of equipment — Limited, S and Trailhawk — and two levels of power, 190 hp or 240 hp.
Both proposals match the 1.3 Turbo Firefly, with 130 hp or 180 hp, to which are added the 60 hp of the electric motor mounted on the rear axle, thus totaling 190 hp (Limited) or 240 hp (S and Trailhawk ) of maximum combined power. Jeep has not declared a combined maximum torque value, but notes that the 1.3 Turbo Firefly has 270 Nm of torque, while the electric motor has 250 Nm.
The performances announced reveal two very fast SUVs, for the 240 hp variant: 7.5s at 0-100 km/h, 200 km/h of top speed (hybrid mode), with this being reduced to 130 km/h when in electric-only mode.

Speaking of electric mode, the battery of the new Renegade 4xe and Compass 4xe has a capacity of 11.4 kWh, capable of guaranteeing a electric autonomy of up to 50 km . To speed up battery charging of the Jeep plug-in hybrid pair, FCA's easyWallbox option reduces charging time to less than two hours.

As you would expect, the new 4xes come with a series of modes of use to make the most of the potential of their powertrain. So we have Electric, Hybrid and E-Save mode. The first, as the name implies, uses only the electric motor and battery, the second combines the two thrusters for maximum efficiency, while the last allows you to save the battery for later use, or charge it.
But it doesn't stop there. In addition, there is a Sport mode that changes the steering and throttle setting; and E-Coaching mode, which monitors driving style to achieve more efficient management of energy use. Finally, we also have the “Smart Charging” function, which manages battery charging both from the UConnect infotainment system and from the driver's smartphone, using the My UConnect app.
Prices
As for the sale prices to the public, these will be:
- Jeep Renegade 4xe — from €40,050;
- Jeep Compass 4xe — from 44,700 euros;
- Jeep Renegade 4x First Edition — €41,500;
- Jeep Compass 4x First Edition — 45,000 euros.
However, there is a special campaign for companies by FCA Capital, exclusive to FCA Capital, where the Renegade 4xe can be purchased below the first level of autonomous taxation, which is 27,500 euros.
