CANCELED AUTOMOTIVE EVENTS

Among the automobile events that were affected due to the coronavirus, some were simply cancelled. In this list you can get to know them:

— GENEVA ROOM . Canceled three days before the opening of its doors to journalists, the Geneva Motor Show remains one of the main events affected by the coronavirus. The decision to cancel it resulted from an announcement by the Swiss government that banned all events with more than 1000 people in the country. It wasn't an impediment to meet many of the models that should have been there — you can meet them here.

— DETROIT HALL: Original date: June 9th to 20th. In the first year it was supposed to be held in June, the Detroit Motor Show was canceled so that the space where it was to take place could be used as a hospital.

— PARIS SALON: Original date: September 26th to October 11th. The main event has been cancelled, but other associated peripheral events are expected to take place.

NEW YORK HALL . Original date: April 10-19. After initially being pushed back to the end of August, event organizers decided to cancel this year's edition of the New York Salon.

— CLASSIC MOTOR ROOM . Original date: April 24th to 26th, the Motorclássico Hall was also cancelled. Although the organization leaves open the possibility that it will take place on another date depending on the evolution of the pandemic, this possible date was not put forward.

— FIA WEC, 1000 MILES SEBRING . Original date: March 20th. After the ban on flights from Europe to the US by President Trump, the organization decided to cancel the race.

— FORMULA 1, GP AUSTRALIA . Original date: March 13th to 15th. After McLaren announced its withdrawal from GP because one of its employees was diagnosed with covid-19, F1, FIA and AGPC (Australian Grand Prix Corporation) decided to cancel the inaugural event of the 2020 F1 championship.

— FORMULA 1, GP MONACO . Original date: May 21st to 24th. Since 1955, the GP Monaco has been running without interruption. After being postponed by the FIA, the Automobile Club de Monaco advanced with the decision to cancel it, as well as the Historic F1 GP. See the original ACO statement.

— FORMULA 1, GP FRANCE. Original date: 26-28 June. After the French government's decision to postpone all mass events until July, the organizers of the French GP had no choice but to cancel the Formula 1 race this year.

— FORMULA 1, GP AZERBAIJAO (original date: June 5-7) , GP SINGAPORE ( original date: September 18-20) and GP JAPAN (Original date: 9-11 October).

— WRC, PORTUGAL RALLY. Original date: May 21st to 24th. — WTCR. The first two races, in Hungary (24-26 April) and Germany (20-23 May), were cancelled. In order to maintain the number of races foreseen for the championship, the tests in Portugal, in Vila Real (June 5-7), Spain (3-5 July) and Austria (24-26 July) will be increased by one more race .

— AUTOMOBILIA DE AVEIRO. Original date: 22 to 24 May. In view of the Covid-19 pandemic and following the guidelines of the General Directorate of Health, the organization of Automobilia de Aveiro, the Clube Aveirense de Automóveis Antigos, decided to cancel the 27th edition of the event.

— PEBBLE BEACH CONCOURS d’ELEGANCE. Original date: August 16th. Faced with the Covid-19 pandemic, the 70th edition of the famous elegance contest was cancelled. Applications accepted in the meantime will be valid for the 2021 edition that will take place on August 15 of next year.

— WRC, NEW ZEALAND RALLY. Original date: September 3rd to 6th. It was the 10th race on the world rally calendar and, like the rallies in Argentina, Portugal, Kenya and Finland, it was eventually canceled due to Covid-19.
