Cold Start. Jay Leno's Ford Bronco has the same V8 as the Shelby GT500

The SEMA Show is already underway and this 1968 Ford Bronco , owned by Jay Leno, is being one of the highlights.

The all-terrain classic was ready to go to scrap when it was dropped off in Jay Leno's parking space on the last day he performed The Tonight Show, by Craig Ferguson, the former presenter of The Late Late Show.

An innocent joke, but Jay Leno is the one laughing now. After several years of doing nothing to it, Leno, in collaboration with Ford Performance, not only resurrected the Ford Bronco, but turned it into a “monster”.

Under the hood is now the same 5.2 V8 Supercharged as the mighty Ford Mustang Shelby GT500, which on the coupe translates to 770 hp (Bronco's final power wasn't announced). Unlike the GT500, the Bronco has a Tremec five-speed manual gearbox and the four-wheel drive system has been beefed up to handle the V8. The suspension is made up of Fox 2.0 coilovers, and the wheels are now 18″.
