Although the official performance is reserved for this year's Frankfurt Motor Show, pre-reservations for the Volkswagen ID.3 (yes, the designation that we used yesterday as the most probable is confirmed) they started today.
With the start of production scheduled for the end of this year and the delivery of the first units scheduled for the middle of next year, Volkswagen expects to sell around 100,000 units per year of the new ID.3 , having already indicated that this will be the first of a total of 20 electric models of the brand.
The pre-reservations that start today — can be done on the Volkswagen website — are for release edition ID.3 1ST. Limited to 30,000 units, it costs less than 40 thousand euros and it will be available in a total of 29 European markets, including Portugal, and to make the pre-booking it will be necessary to advance with 1000 euros.
The ID.3 1ST edition
Available in four colors and three versions, the ID.3 1ST release edition uses a 58 kWh battery of capacity, offering a range of 420 km (according to the WLTP cycle).

The base version of this launch edition is simply called ID.3 1ST and features voice controls and navigation system. The intermediate version, the ID.3 1ST Plus, adds IQ headlamps to the equipment and even a bicolor decoration. Finally, the top-end version, the ID.3 1ST Max offers a panoramic roof and a head-up display with augmented reality.
Those who pre-book and end up purchasing one of the first 30,000 units of the ID.3 will be able to charge for a year (up to a maximum of 2000 kWh) for free ID.3 at public charging stations associated with the Volkswagen We Charge app or at IONITY network stations.
According to Volkswagen, it will be possible to restore up to 260 km of the ID.3's autonomy in just 30 minutes at a 100 kW charging station. In addition to the 58 kWh battery that the ID.3 1ST edition is equipped with, the electric will also have a 45 kWh and 77 kWh battery of capacity with an autonomy of 330 km and 550 km, respectively.
Although Volkswagen has not yet confirmed prices for Portugal, it is known that the more affordable version of the ID.3 will cost, in Germany, less than 30 thousand euros.
Alongside the opening of ID.3 pre-reservations, Volkswagen sales director Jürgen Stackmann took the opportunity to confirm that the eighth generation of the Golf will not be the last of the model.
