Every year, Skoda encourages its interns to explore their creativity by creating a prototype based on one of their models, and this year, it looks like we're going to be entitled to one. Skoda Scala Spider.

Well, after projects such as the Skoda Citijet, Funstar, Atero, Element and the Sunroq or, more recently, the Mountiaq, the Czech brand's interns focused on their new compact familiar and removed all the genes from… familiar.

Scheduled for presentation in June, this prototype of a Skoda Scala Spider remains shrouded in mystery, the mechanics that will equip it or even its name being unknown.

From the sketches you can see that the interior should remain practically unaltered.

As for the exterior, the changes promise to be much bigger, at least judging by the sketch that Skoda released.

First, it is a convertible, then a roadster or Spider, having eliminated the rear seats and, consequently, the rear doors. Of course, the rear panels and the tailgate are also brand new. Highlights also include a prominent rear diffuser with a central exhaust outlet, and the wheels and brake calipers that are typical of Skoda's RS range.
