Audi chose the Paris Motor Show to unveil the spicy version of the Q2, the SQ2 . The German brand took the public by surprise, since despite being expected, no one expected the launch to take place in the French capital.
The sporty version of the crossover uses the Audi S3 engine, a 2.0 TFSI that produces 300 hp and 400 Nm of torque, which allows the SQ2 to reach 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.8s and takes it to full speed. of 250 km/h.
To pass the 300 hp to the asphalt, the German brand equipped the SQ2 with the quattro system (as is the rule on Audis that receive the S brand), associated with a seven-speed S Tronic dual-clutch gearbox, which can both work in automatic mode and manual-sequential mode.

More power requires better ground connections
But the German brand did not just give a new engine and install all-wheel drive in the new SQ2, Audi lowered it 20 mm and increased the stiffness of the damping of the sports suspension. To get you on the road, Audi chose 18″ or 19″ wheels, all to improve the way the small crossover handles curves.
Improvements have also been made to the braking system, with the new version of the Q2 being equipped with 340mm front disc brakes and 310mm rear disc brakes, both featuring striking red brake calipers with the S logo ( but only as an option).
Also inside, it's easy to see that the new Audi SQ2 is the top version of the crossover range, with an all-digital instrument panel available as an option which, whenever the 2.0 TFSI is switched on, has a specific design to remind the driver that it is not at the controls of an ordinary Q2.
With the SQ2 also comes an increase in the range of standard equipment, with LED headlamps and taillights making their presence felt in this version. Inside we also find brushed aluminum details on the instrument panel and the pedals use stainless steel for a sportier look.
Sporty but without neglecting security
Despite Audi's focus for the SQ2 on dynamics, the German brand did not neglect safety. Thus, the sports version of the smallest crossover of the ring brand appears on the market with frontal collision sensors as standard that use a radar to recognize dangerous situations. This system starts with an audible warning and even brakes in an emergency.
Other driving aids present in the SQ2 are the adaptive cruise control, which has a stop & go function and traffic jam assist — these technologies allow the small Audi to help the driver to turn, accelerate and brake on roads in good condition untill 65 km/h. A parking aid system that turns the new Audi into parallel or perpendicular parking situations is also available as an option.
