We originally saw him at the Geneva Motor Show and now here he is. THE Audi A8 L 60 TFSI and quattro — Phew… — is another example of Audi's commitment to electrification and joins the plug-in hybrid versions of the Q5, A6, A7 Sportback and Q7 that accompanied it in the Swiss event.
Developed on the basis of the long variant of the A8, the A8 L 60 TFSI e quattro is 5.30 m long and is scheduled to arrive on the market this autumn. The plug-in hybrid version of the short A8 variant is expected to arrive a few weeks later.
The numbers of the A8 L 60 TFSI and quattro
Bringing life to the Audi A8 L 60 TFSI and quattro are two engines, one petrol and one electric, which are integrated into the transmission. The gasoline engine is a 3.0 l V6 that pumps out 340 hp and 500 Nm of binary. The electric motor offers 100 kW (136 hp) of power and a maximum torque of 350 Nm , being powered by a battery with a 14.1 kWh capacity.
As far as the total combined power value of the plug-in hybrid version of the A8 is concerned, that's just the 449 hp and 700 Nm , numbers that allow you to go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.9s and reach 250 km/h (electronically limited).

With an autonomy in 100% electric mode of up to 46 km (according to the WLTP cycle), the Audi the A8 L 60 TFSI e quattro consumes between 2.5 and 2.7 l/100 km and emits between 57 and 61 g/km of CO2, according to the manufacturer's data.
Technology doesn't lack
In addition to all the technological resources that the A8 is already familiar with, the Audi A8 L 60 TFSI e quattro also features a regenerative braking system (capable of generating up to 80 kW). In addition, the plug-in hybrid version of the A8 also features two new driving modes: “EV” and “Hybrid”.
THE EV mode allows driving in 100% electric mode, and only when the driver presses more on the accelerator does the gasoline engine “wake up”. already the hybrid mode it is divided into two: “Auto” and “Hold”. The “Auto” automatically manages both engines (combustion and electric), while the “Hold” maintains the charge in the battery for later use.
Aesthetically, the only differences compared to the other A8 are the presence of a luminous signature inspired by the Audi e-tron and a few more (small) details on the bumpers.
According to Audi, the A8 L 60 TFSI and quattro is already available for pre-booking and, in Germany, the price should start at 109 thousand euros. For now, it is not known when the plug-in hybrid version of the A8 will arrive in Portugal or how much it will cost.
