333km/h in 5 seconds... on a rocket bike!

François Gissy is a Frenchman who is literally out of his league. An engineer by training, Gissy is dedicated to setting bike speed records in his spare time. Last week he set his own record by reaching a top speed of 333km/h in just 5 seconds, riding a rocket bike – the previous record was 285km/h.

The speed achieved might not even impress, were it not for the appearance of the bike. François Gissy seems to insist that the bicycle remains similar to a… bicycle. The pedals are still there (for what purpose, I don't know…) and the structural changes only contemplate a longer wheelbase to increase stability, an opening angle of the steering column for the same purpose, and of course, somewhere in the middle of the frame “hung” a rocket that works like liquid hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). Aerodynamic studies? Wind tunnels? For what?!

In between, and for promotional purposes, he still had time to humiliate a Ferrari F430 Scuderia, which with a 510hp V8 can't do anything against a… rocket bike!
