Toyota 2000GT, Honda NSX, Porsche 928, BMW 8 Series, Ferrari F40, etc. Adored by many but different from each other, they all had something in common: retractable headlights.
Although they are safer, more powerful and technologically advanced, today's sports cars seem to lack, at times, the charisma of the machines of yesteryear — perhaps it's nostalgia that speaks... —, also a result of this luminous solution so in vogue in the second half of the last century.
Unfortunately, despite its aesthetic appeal, aerodynamic issues, the complexity of the mechanism and, of course, safety (pedestrian protection), big brands have been forced to abandon this solution over the years.
