And the Portuguese city with the most traffic is…

Anonim

THE world ranking of the most congested cities in 2018 , prepared by Tom Tom with real data from its users, also made it possible to find the most congested Portuguese city. Perhaps it comes as no surprise to anyone that Lisbon is the Portuguese city with the most traffic.

The “status” of Lisbon is not limited to the national territory, it is also the city with the most traffic on the Iberian Peninsula — Barcelona comes in second.

The ranking defined by Tom Tom reveals a percentage value, which is equivalent to the amount of extra travel time that drivers have to make per year. trip will be 32% higher than expected under traffic-free conditions.

Traffic

The data collected comes from the users of Tom Tom's systems themselves, so the traffic-free travel times that serve as a reference do not take into account speed limits, but rather the time that drivers actually spent on a particular journey.

Despite being the Portuguese city with the most traffic, not all is bad news for Lisbon — the congestion level of 32% is the same as in 2017. The lack of variation allowed Lisbon to drop in the world ranking of the most congested cities. In 2017 it was the 62nd most congested city on the planet, in 2018 it became the 77th out of 403 cities evaluated.
