Delivery of 44 Toyota Hilux pick-up trucks transformed, to set up new teams of forest sappers from the Institute for the Conservation of Nature and Forests (ICNF), highlights the robustness of the new generation of this iconic all-terrain model.
As part of the vehicle fleet for prevention and rapid intervention teams across the country, Toyota Hilux were specifically transformed to support and quickly respond to the defense of the forest.
The transformation operated which includes machines, tools and personal protection equipment.
In addition to this important support for forest protection, Toyota Portugal, within the scope of the “One Toyota, one tree” project — which consists of planting a tree for each new Toyota vehicle sold — after 12 continuous years, has already contributed. with more than 130 000 trees planted in areas hit by forest fires.
Since 2005, this initiative has reached a dimension and structure of high importance for the brand, contributing to reforestation in Portugal.
