After a few days ago we raised the possibility of the new Ford Mustang Mach 1 coming to be marketed here, the American brand came to confirm the rumors and even decided to show the new model to Europeans at Goodwood SpeedWeek.
Visually identical to the version sold on the other side of the Atlantic — with a decor inspired by the iconic Mustang Mach 1 of the 1960s and 1970s — it is under the hood that the main (and only) difference from the North American version appears.
Is that while in that market (and in Australia) the 5.0 V8 Coyote presents itself with 480 hp and 569 Nm, around here this engine offers “only” 460 hp and 529 Nm, which coincide with the specifications of the Mustang Bullit.
For now, we do not know the reason behind the reduction of 20 hp and 40 Nm, but we suspect it has to do with complying with emission regulations.
Tremec manual cashier remains
Despite the reduction in power and torque, all other arguments for the Ford Mustang Mach 1 hold up. In this way, the Mach 1 will be the first Mustang marketed in Europe to come equipped with Tremec's six-speed gearbox with automatic heel.

Alternatively, it is possible to opt for the 10-speed automatic transmission which, in addition to an improved torque converter and a specific calibration, also received an improved air-oil cooler which increased the cooling capacity by 75%.
Equipped with a limited-slip differential, the Ford Mustang Mach 1 also features revised steering and new Magneride suspension calibrations, with firmer front springs, stabilizer bars and suspension bushings.
When arrives?
With eight body color combinations, stripes and contrasting lines set, each Mustang Mach 1 is individually numbered with a distinctive nameplate.
Standard equipment includes heated and cooled seats, the SYNC3 infotainment system, the FordPass Connect system and a 12-speaker sound system from B&O.
For now, the number of units that will be produced in this limited edition, their price and the date of arrival on the European market remain unknown.
