Ford Focus caught in Italy on the radar at… 703 km/h!

Anonim

If the Bugatti Chiron is officially the fastest road car in the world, there is a radar in Italy that has a different opinion and claims that this title belongs to one… Ford Focus.

According to the Italian website Autopassionati, a radar registered an Italian female driver supposedly traveling at 703 km/h in a place where the maximum limit was 70 km/h!

The most curious thing about this whole situation was not the faulty radar reading that mind-blowing speed, but the fact that the police passed the fine without realizing the error.

The result was a fine of 850 euros and 10 points less on the driving license of the unlucky driver of this “supersonic” Ford Focus.

Appealing the fine? Yes. Cancel it? No

Faced with this ludicrous situation, the driver asked Giovanni Strologo, former city councilor and spokesman for the committee for compliance with the highway code, which, in the meantime, decided to make the case public.

Interestingly, he advised the driver not to accept the cancellation of the fine, but to ask for compensation.
