Ford F-450 in "drift"! Is there a vehicle that Ken Block doesn't "roll aside"?

Anonim

With 6.7 V8 Turbo Diesel engine, double wheeled rear axle and XXL dimensions, the Ford F-450 (one of the F-150's huge heavy-duty “sisters”) seems to have all the makings to be a poor choice for the protagonist of a Ken Block video.

However, it was precisely an F-450 that was the protagonist of the video we bring you today, proving that Ken Block can drift with virtually any vehicle that has a steering wheel.

Throughout the video in which we also see Ken Block's Ford Escort MK2 RS break off a semi-axle, the American made the F-450 “dance” in multiple rear drifts, making everything look… easy. But is it really?

harder than it looks

As we can see through the camera in the Ford F-450 cabin (and from Ken Block's expression throughout the video), making the Ford pickup sideways doesn't seem as simple as it seems.

As Ken Block states in the video, the “lazy” character of the (powerful) Diesel engine makes it difficult to modulate the rear drift with the accelerator and only with third gear engaged making the wheels turn faster, it was possible to put the F-450 burning rubber and walking sideways.

Be that as it may, in the end Ken Block did manage to drift with the Ford F-450, ending up proving his capabilities.
