Kia e-Niro arrives at the end of the year with 485 km of autonomy

Equipped with the most powerful version of the 64 kWh high-capacity lithium polymer battery, the new Kia e-Niro it promises 485 km of autonomy, but in urban cycle it impresses much more: 615 km of autonomy, that is, more than many gasoline cars!

Already with the most affordable 39.2 kWh battery, a unit proposed as a series with the South Korean crossover, the e-Niro announces a range of 312 km on a combined cycle.

Fast speeding up… and charging

With regard to charging, the Kia e-Niro promises, in the version with 64 kWh batteries, a capacity to replenish up to 80% of the total charge in 54 minutes, provided that a 100 kW fast charger is used.

growing success

The Kia e-Niro completes the range, joining the Hybrid and Plug-in Hybrid versions. These two versions have already guaranteed sales of more than 200 thousand units globally since their arrival on the market in 2016. In Europe, 65 thousand units have already been sold.

The 64 kWh e-Niro has a 150 kW (204 hp) electric motor, capable of producing 395 Nm of torque, allowing an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.8s.

When equipped with the 39.2 kWh battery pack, the South Korean crossover features a 100 kW (136 hp) electric motor, but offers the same 395 Nm of torque, with acceleration from 0 to 100 km/ha stay for 9.8s.

Predictive technology for greater efficiency

Proposed, like the Hybrid and Plug-In Hybrid brothers, only and only with front wheel drive, the 100% electric version also offers a wide range of technologies to improve energy efficiency and increase autonomy, including regenerative braking as well as Coasting Guide Control (CGC) and Predictive Energy Control (PEC) systems — technologies that make it possible to take advantage of inertia and braking for more efficient collection and saving of energy.

With a fully digital instrument panel, the Kia e-Niro also features a series of exclusive technologies from the 100% electric version

Linked to the navigation system, both the CGC and the PEC take into account the curves and topographical changes existing in the route, suggesting in real time and intelligently, the heights at which the driver can travel by inertia, with a view to the additional energy storage.

Still available in 2018 with a 7-year warranty

Like all other proposals from the South Korean brand, the Kia e-Niro will also benefit from a 7-year or 150 000 km warranty, which also covers the battery pack and the electric motor.
