Toyota Mirai. Production version is announced in December

It may not look like it, but the Toyota Mirai we saw a few months ago was still a prototype. Yes, it was a prototype (very) close to the production version, but still a prototype.

Well, for that reason Toyota will unveil the final production version of the second generation of what was the first series-produced hydrogen-powered sedan, this presentation being scheduled for December.

In the teaser unveiled, Toyota also shows that the new model will remain very faithful to the prototype that anticipated it, with the most likely difference between the production version and the prototype that Guilherme Costa saw live will be in detail.

As in the exterior, also in the interior we shouldn't expect big changes, mainly when we remember that the interior of the prototype was already in everything similar to that of a production car.

What is already known?

One of the certainties that already exist about the new Toyota Mirai is that it will be based on the TNGA modular platform, but for rear-wheel-drive vehicles.

As far as dimensions are concerned, and assuming that they must remain the same (or at least very close) to those of the prototype, the length is 4.975 m, the width is 1.885 m, the height is 1.470 m and the distance wheelbase in 2,920 m.

As for the Toyota Mirai's technical data, these are still shrouded in secrecy. Thus, the only information we have is that Toyota promises for the new Mirai an increase of up to close to 30% of the autonomy of the current model (550 km in NEDC cycle).

Having come to Portugal confirmed by Salvador Caetano's officials, we now have to wait for December to learn more about the new Toyota model.
