Digital mirrors come to Lexus ES 300h and get a "Special Edition"

It was the first model to integrate digital rearview mirrors (in Japan in 2018) as standard, anticipating the Audi e-tron, but only now the Lexus ES 300h starts offering them as standard in Europe, in the “Luxury” version, its highest specification.

It is not the only novelty in the Japanese model, as it is now also available in the Portuguese market with a new “Special Edition” version.

Available by 62 900 euros , the ES 300h “Special Edition” brings with it a multimedia system with a 12” screen, compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto systems and a wireless charger. It also stands out for having a steering wheel and seats covered in “Tahara” leather and 18” alloy wheels.

As the vast majority of Lexus proposals (the LC 500 Convertible that we tested recently is one of the exceptions), the ES 300h uses a hybrid mechanics, hence the designation 300h (in other markets there are versions with only heat engine).

With this in mind, under the hood we find a 2.5 l atmospheric in-line four-cylinder engine that works according to the Atkinson cycle, which is combined with an electric motor and an e-CVT to obtain a maximum combined power of 218 hp.
