Hyundai Casper. Mini SUV to the city but not to Europe

Anonim

it's called Casper , like the ghost, but it's Hyundai's new mini-SUV. With a disruptive design that completely deviates from the Hyundai proposals we know, the Casper will be sold in the “domestic” market, South Korea, and also in India, as well as in some other emerging markets in Asia.

Smaller than “our” Hyundai i10, the Casper (measuring just 3.59 m long, 1.57 m tall and 1.59 m wide) is not only the smallest SUV of the South Korean brand, but it will become one of the smallest SUVs in the world.

With a capacity for just four occupants, the Casper stands out for presenting an exterior image that combines the attributes of a city vehicle with the more “square” lines typical of more adventurous vehicles.

Noteworthy are the circular headlamps built into the front grille, the protections on the bumpers and in the wheel arches and the black horizontal strip at the front, which has the logo of the South Korean brand and “torn” daytime running lights.

But if the exterior image is surprising, the cabin is not far behind. In the first official images of the interior of the Casper, it is possible to see that this small SUV will have a digital instrument panel and an 8” central screen that “takes over” a large part of the dashboard.

The gearbox lever appears in a very high position, very close to the steering wheel and, depending on the version chosen, it will be possible to count on colored notes on the center console.

There are also “perks” like a small panoramic roof, multiple USB ports, seven airbags, driver seat ventilation, heated mirrors, Apple CarPlay and leather seats.

And since we are talking about the seats, it is important to highlight another feature of the Casper: this “mini-SUV” allows all seats to be folded down, even the driver's.

As for the engines that will "excite" you, the range is made up of 1.0 MPI atmospheric and 1.0 T-GDI, both three-cylinder. For confirmation is the power and transmission options, something that we should only know when the model is presented in full.

Despite being based on the same platform as the i10, which is sold here, there are currently no plans to sell the Casper in Europe.
