Cold Start. It looks like a Chevrolet Corvette C1 but it's a Chinese car.

After the Mitsuoka Rock Star (a Mazda MX-5 transformed into a Chevrolet Corvette C2), behold, the iconic American sports car is recreated in yet another replica (or almost), this time of the first generation C1 and coming from China.

Named SS Dolphin, this “clone” is based on a BYD model (the Qin Pro Sedan) which, it seems, will be in charge of its production, despite the model belonging to Songsan Motors — remember its “Bread of Chinese form”?

From the (many) chrome, to the shape of the body, passing through the exhausts built into the bumper, the truth is that the similarities with the original are undeniable, even if the proportions… not really.

Under the hood is not a V8, but a 1.5 l turbo that comes with an electric motor — this “Corvette” is a plug-in hybrid. Together these offer 319 hp and 535 Nm which are sent to the front wheels via an automatic six-speed dual-clutch gearbox.

The asking price for the SS Dolphin? Just over 75 thousand euros.
