Renovated last year, the Single Automobile Document (DUA) is undeniably easier to transport (and even more resistant).
Once a paper document that folded into three parts, the “citizen card” of our cars has become similar to a credit card (or our own Citizen Card).
Although the replacement of the old DUA (or even the old booklet and title of registration of property) is not mandatory, there are those who would like to have the DUA in the new format and that's why in this article we explain how to do it.

Of course, if you buy a used car, the DUA you will receive will already be in the new format, but what if you just want to replace the Unique Automobile Document of your current car? In this case you can do it in three different ways.

The first, and perhaps simplest, is via the internet, on the Automóvel Online website. After accessing the site, you must authenticate with the Citizen's Card and make the request, it is not necessary to fill in the Vehicle Registration Application.
You can also request a replacement/2nd copy of the DUA through the post, sending the request to any Car Register — whose addresses you can check here. Finally, you can also request the replacement of the DUA in person. To do this, go to an IRN desk or a Citizen's Shop.
Whether you apply for a replacement/2nd copy of the DUA online or in person at an IRN counter or at a Citizen's Shop, the amount you will have to pay is always the same: 30 euros.
