Porsche's first 100% electric model, the Taycan is guaranteed not to be the only one. Proof of this is the increasingly imminent arrival of his "brother", the Porsche Taycan Cross Tour.

Anticipated by the Mission E Cross Turismo prototype unveiled at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, this second Porsche electric model has now been “caught up” in a series of official “spy photos” where it appears to be put to the test.

The shapes seem to be very close to the prototype and anticipate a more “familiar” model and more focused on versatility.

Porsche Taycan Cross Tour
Stefan Weckbach, is responsible for the “family” of Taycan models.

In fact, this same character was confirmed by Stefan Weckbach, the head of the “family” of Taycan models, who stated: “with the Taycan Cross Turismo we wanted to offer a little more space and versatility”.

According to the German executive, this was achieved thanks to "a completely new roof line, with a roof with longitudinal bars which add more space in the rear seats and a larger luggage compartment".

Ready for "bad ways"

Described by Weckbach as an ideal car for both urban and countryside, the Taycan Cross Turismo owes this “double personality” to its superior body height. Described as a CUV (crossover utility vehicle), the Taycan Cross Turismo is able to tackle not only gravel roads but also small off-road obstacles.

In addition to the higher ground clearance, Weckbach revealed that Porsche's second electric model received an optimized suspension system and a specific driving mode called “CUV” designed especially for off-road driving situations.

Taycan Cross Turismo promises greater versatility than that offered by Taycan.

As for the engines, although nothing has yet been confirmed, we were not surprised that these were identical to those used by Taycan. The date of presentation and arrival on the market remains to be revealed.
