The rear-wheel drive Taycan is a reality and already has a price for Portugal

One, two, three, four variants. the range of Porsche Taycan it keeps growing and from now on it has a new variant that has joined the Taycan Turbo S, Taycan Turbo and Taycan 4S.

Simply known as Taycan, the latest member of the range has only one electric motor at the rear (instead of two of the others), meaning it's only rear-wheel drive, and comes with two battery options: Performance, standard, and Performance Plus .

With the first battery, the nominal power is fixed at 326 hp (240 kW), going up to 408 hp (300 kW) in overboost with Launch Control. With the Performance Plus battery, the nominal power rises to 380 hp (280 kW), rising to 476 hp (350 kW) in overboost with Launch Control.

Different powers, equal performance

Despite the different power output depending on the battery, the latest Porsche Taycan accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.4s and reaches a maximum speed of 230 km/h in both configurations.

With regard to autonomy, with the Performance battery (which has a gross capacity of 79.2 kWh) it amounts to 431 km (WLTP). With the Performance Plus battery, which has 93.4 kWh, the autonomy rises to 484 km (WLTP).

Finally, the Performance battery has a maximum charging capacity of 225 kW and the Performance Plus battery can be charged up to 270 kW. This means that both can be charged from 5% to 80% in 22.5 minutes and are capable of restoring 100 km of autonomy in five minutes.

How much will it cost?

Compared to the rest of the range, the most affordable of the Taycans is distinguished by its 19” Aero wheels and black brake calipers. The front bumper spoiler, side skirts and rear diffuser in black are identical to those used by the Taycan 4S.

The first units of the latest member of the Taycan range are expected to arrive at the Porsche Center from mid-March 2021. As for the price, this should start at 87 127 euros.
