THE WRC Vodafone Rally de Portugal 2020 , the fifth round of the FIA World Rally Championships, due to the global pandemic of the new Coronavirus, also had to be postponed.

The Rally de Portugal 2020 was to start on the 21st of May and would continue until the 24th of May, with the stages to be scheduled in the north and center of the country.

It was the entry into force of the State of Emergency in Portugal that eventually generated a unanimous agreement between the national authorities, the FIA and the promoter, the Automóvel Club de Portugal, to request the postponement of the WRC Vodafone Rally de Portugal.

There is still no new date for the holding of the Rally de Portugal, according to Oliver Ciesla, WRC promoter: “we are all working to identify possible alternative dates at the end of the season, in case the COVID-19 situation improves, taking into account the logistics of the championship, the ability of the teams to travel again and the ability of the respective countries to organize the WRC at that time”.
