750 hp and less than 1100 kg. The most radical replica of the Audi Sport Quattro ever

Anonim

Produced by the German preparer LCE Performance, this replica of the iconic Audi Sport Quattro it is, most likely, the most radical of them all.

In case you didn't know, this German company is dedicated (among other transformations) to producing replicas of the Audi Sport Quattro, which are divided into a total of six variants: Variant 1, 2 and 3, and also the S1 E1 – Rallye Version, the S1 E2 and the S1 E2 Pikes Peak.

The one we're talking about today is “Variant 3” and it's perhaps an understatement to say that it's an elaborate cut and sew job. If you don't believe then read the next lines.

Audi Sport quattro replica

A lot of power extracted from a “new” engine

Like the original Audi Sport Quattro, this replica has a five-cylinder in-line that in this Variant 3 delivers a whopping 750 hp (power starts at 220 hp), more even than the “monsters” of Group B.

It won't be an exaggeration to say that this engine is one of the most interesting components of this successful replica. We use the adjective peculiar because it is the result of the combination of a series of components that, at first sight, have nothing to do with each other.

The block is a 2.5 l TDI — yes, Diesel — with five cylinders from an Audi A6 TDI and the crankshaft comes from the South African version of the Volkswagen T4 (the Transporter) with a diesel engine, five cylinders, of course. The engine head, on the other hand, comes from an Audi S2.

Added to this are forged pistons and a KKK K27 turbocharger. The 750 hp of power (which, depending on other changes can go up to 1000 hp) is sent to all four wheels through a manual gearbox with six relations.

"Cut and sew"

With a total weight of around 1100 kg, the bodywork of this Audi Sport Quattro is quite faithful to the original. For that, a careful and difficult job of “cutting and sewing” was necessary.

The bodywork is half an Audi 80 (up to the B-pillar) and half an Audi Quattro (from the B-pillar to the rear). The tailgate is made of fiberglass reinforced with polyester resin while the mudguards, side panels, roof, hood and front and rear “aprons” are produced by the Swiss company “Seger and Hoffmann”.

Equipped in this “Variant 3” with a carbon fiber body kit, this replica of the Audi Sport Quattro also features Recaro seats, BBS wheels, a custom-made 89.9 mm exhaust system, a Brembo braking system which includes, at the front, the 365 mm brake discs of the Porsche 911 GT3 RS (996). The chassis is also custom-made by KW.

All of this contributes for this «Audi Sport Quattro» to reach 0 to 100 km/h in about 3.5s and reach a maximum speed of 280 km/h, all in a model certified by the TÜV and which can be used on public roads .

As for the price, LCE Performance does not reveal it, however, we know that the most affordable version of this replica starts at 90 thousand euros. This Variant 3 should be much more.
