Brabus 92R. The electric "super-Smart" that costs almost twice as much as normal

Anonim

Brabus, a well-known German preparer, has just presented one of the most exclusive and radical versions of the Smart fortwo. Denominated Brabus 92R , has a slightly "spicy" electrical mechanics and a much sportier look.

This Brabus 92R is based on the Smart EQ fortwo cabrio, but has been heavily modified, with new bumpers with a more aggressive design, larger wheels (16” at the front and 17” at the rear), a coilover suspension kit and an all-new interior, with a much sportier look.

But if the more aggressive image promises to “steal” some looks on the road, it's the slightly improved mechanics that make this a… “super-Smart”, at least when compared to the brand's current model lineup.

Brabus will only build 50 copies of the 92R.

Like its base model, the Brabus 92R has only one electric motor, which has been optimized here to produce 92 hp and 180 Nm, an increase of 11 hp compared to the “conventional” Smart EQ fortwo cabrio.

Thanks to this power boost and with the Sport+ mode activated (the sportiest of the four modes available: Basic, Eco, Sport and Sport +), the Brabus 92R is capable of going from 0 to 100 km/h in 10.9s ( -1.0s than the EQ fortwo cabrio), but it is advisable not to exploit these accelerations too much, since the autonomy per charge is limited to 125 km.

That this is a very special Smart, we have no doubts, because Brabus has already made it known that it will only produce 50 copies of this model, but of course, it has a price to match.

On the German market, the Brabus 92R has a base price of 46,284 euros, a value that will not be much different in Portugal, since, when it comes to electric vehicles, only VAT varies. If in Germany, the 92R costs twice as much as the EQ fortwo from which it derives, in Portugal it wouldn't be much different, and using the calculator quickly, it's close to double — prices start at 26 395 euros.
